Utilizing The Best Technology For Your Dental Care
The iTero scanner allows us to take a digital impression of the individual characteristics of your tooth surfaces and gum tissue. The iTero scanner is all about keeping you comfortable while delivering precise imagery, without the putty-filled impression trays that makes you gag!
Cone Beam Imaging
Cone beam imaging, while a relatively new technology to dentistry, has already radically transformed the way that we as dentists can gather information, with the result being an ability to diagnose and treatment plan in a manner that previously could not even be imagined. The transformation from interpreting two-dimensional information to diagnosing from 3-D imaging, which allows for visualization of all structures in any given field, is a quantum leap in precision and accuracy. This benefits us especially in Implant Dentistry, Endodontics, Oral Surgery—extractions and wisdom teeeth, and diagnosis of challenging cases.
Air Abrasion
Central Park Dentistry has a way of removing the small cavities so that you don’t have to undergo the whirring of the drill, vibration, or a long time in the dental chair. This method is called air abrasion.
Think of air abrasion as sand-blasting for your teeth. It’s accomplished by using a hand held wand instrument to direct abrasion particles onto the area of the tooth in need of repair- clearing it of decay. The particles used in the process are microscopic granules made from aluminum oxide, and because they’re less invasive than traditional drilling, more of the tooth can be retained, less or no anesthesia is necessary, and the risk of fracturing or chipping the tooth is minimized.
Digital Radiography
We are always looking for ways to make your dental care safer, faster and more comfortable. Digital Radiography has many benefits including:
Less Radiation Exposure
Digital X-ray sensors require a much shorter exposure time than conventional film X-rays and produce less scatter. This drastically reduces the dose of radiation you are exposed to over the years up to 90% less expensive.
Faster X-rays
Without having to reload or develop films, digital sensors allow the doctor to see scan results on the computer immediately, so we can have you in and out faster than ever.
Sharper Images
Digital radiography produces a much better resolution image that can be further enhanced on the computer. This gives us superior diagnostic capabilities and a way to store each X-ray in your file for future reference.
Going Green
Using digital imaging has allowed us to completely eliminate the use of film processing chemicals in our office.
Intraoral Camera
This pen-sized camera is quickly becoming one of the most talked about tools. Why? Because this awesome little gizmo allows us to peer into the darkest recesses of your mouth to see things we just can’t see with the naked eye- or an X-ray, for the matter. Cracked and loose fillings “pop” out as if they’re right in front of your eyes, cavities can be seen up-close, hairline fractures become readily apparent, and your gums shine like never before…everything is magnified so we can catch problems early before they become expensive and painful.
Isolite
Tired of getting a stiff neck at the dentist? Or straining your jaw muscles just to keep your mouth open for a cleaning?
Designed by dentist Thomas R. Hirsch, DDS, who believed there had to be a better way to isolate and illuminate a patient’s mouth during dental procedures, the Isolite system removes shadows traditionally casted by an overhead lamp, and clears the typically crowded mouth of gauze, two sets of hands, an aspirator, and a hand tool. You will most certainly notice the difference, and we are so pleased to provide the Isolite System for your comfort.
Laser Dentistry
Laser dentistry harnesses the power of light to do the work that used to require a scalpel. Lasers are surgically precise, can reduce (or eliminate) bleeding, and result in shorter healing times. They are also supreme bacteria-killers. Central Park Dentistry uses Picaso Soft Tissue Lasers when feasible to eliminate use of the scalpel and increase patient comfort.
