History of Caring
Central Park Dentistry is grateful for the opportunity to take ownership of the practice of Dr. Eric Wagner in Sheffield. We are excited to bring full service dental care to Sheffield and the surrounding communities.
Dr. Jay Lala started Central Park Dentistry in 1993 in Mason City. He firmly believes in outstanding customer service and creating a very positive patient experience. From this philosophy, Central Park Dentistry has continually grown in popularity and reputation from our patients. We have been the Globe Gazette Reader’s Choice winners several years in a row for dental office. In Sheffield, we will grow this same service and trust with our patients.
The Sheffield office is closed on Monday however emergency calls and messages may be left on the answering machine. All of our dentists bring a positive attitude and atmosphere for patients of all ages. All of the doctors believe in a common sense, conservative treatment approach that is individually tailored to each patient and their needs. It begins with getting to know the patients and their history, listening to their concerns, and prioritizing treatment together.

A dental crown (or cap) is a covering that encases the entire tooth surface restoring it to its original shape and size. A crown protects and strengthens tooth structure that cannot be restored with fillings or other types of restorations.
Even if you have lost all or some of your natural teeth, you should still visit your dentist once a year. The dentist will be able to evaluate the fit of your denture, offer suggestions for denture care and hygiene, and check for issues that may arise, such as oral cancer.
Headache caused by jaw joint: We now have a simple device that can significantly reduce the intensity of jaw clenching and the painful problems it causes. It’s called the NTI Tension Suppression System.. In just one appointment, we can create your NTI appliance. First, we try it in, and precisely customize its fit by lining it with a plastic material. Once the customized portion has hardened, we carefully make any final adjustments and polish it.
Routine cleanings in our office remove plaque and tartar that exist on your teeth above the gum line, but sometimes, especially if you don’t floss regularly, plaque, tartar and bacterial toxins can develop below the gum line. The goal of scaling and root planning is to remove this source of periodontal infection from below the gum line on the surface of the roots.
Central Park Dentistry also can do many same day oral surgeries and provide many more services for your dental needs. We’re perhaps the most comprehensive dental practice in North Iowa in terms of the number of services we can provide in-house.
